So the second day all Twilighters have dreamed off is here, Twilight on DVD. We can now watch Edward, Bella and all the Twilight goodness over and over till our players break.
Having received my copy at 10am (thanks Barnes & Noble same day delivery), I put it in and started my day.
WARNING….Spoilers after this!!!!! You’ve been warned.
So the first thing I did was watch the Deleted scenes, and I have to say they made the right call on 4 out of 5 of them. First up was the “Edward, she’s not one of us” line delivered by Emmett (which we saw in the trailer). Have to say, glad it wasn’t in the movie, would have been out of place.
Second, was the extra make-out scene I posted up a few weeks ago. I still agree that this is better as just extra goodness for the DVD
Third was the clip they shot in woods (also clips I posted a few weeks ago), I was right in my thinking that access hollywood made two scenes out of one, and I still go with my original thought about that scene, click HERE to read it.
Forth was a cute little scene between Carlisle and Esme; it would have been nice to see this in the movie, as we don’t really see much interaction between them.
Last was a scene with the “nomad” vamps, good but not enough for the movie.
Next up was the 7 part making of the film, which I have to say I really liked. They really went from beginning to end, seeing Catherine pitch things to Stephenie to post production. They have interviews with all the cast members, crew and stunt actors. It was very entertaining.
The Comic-Con bit was up that I had already seen as it was featured on the Twilight Blog, this was followed by all the trailers and such.
There were five extended scenes featured here. So these are scenes that are already in the movie, but had stuff cut from them.
First up was the scene in the Dinner with Bella and Charlie; the part that was cut was some dialogue from the book with Bella asked Charlie about the Cullen family. I’m not sure I agree with it being cut as I really liked it here and the editing would have been better with it in.
Next was some extra stuff with the nomads going after Wayln. I agree with the cutting unless you really wanted to see them try to go at it with the killing.
Third was my favorite extended scene and that was the meadow. I REALLY wish they would have left this whole scene in the movie and we get some of the great dialogue from Edward telling Bella in so many words what she means to him.
Forth, is some extra footage of Edward’s bedroom, not really interesting enough for the final cut.
Last is a cute lil part where Edward shares what Charlie was thinking, it would have been nice to see this in the final film as we don’t get many scenes of Edward and is special gift
Film with Commentary
So next up I watched the film with the commentary turned on, and I have to say it was worth it. The commentary is provided by Catherine, Kristin and Robert, and they make some pretty funny comments about scenes, props, etc. I think one of my faves is when Edward saves Bella in Port Angeles and the voice he uses to make his little jokes are pretty damn funny.
Other then the film without the commentary, there a just some music videos by Linkin Park, Muse and Paramore.
So there you have it a pretty good description of the Twilight DVD, but to really experience it yourself, go pick up your copy now.
I’ll have another review of the 3 disc DVD when I get it sometime next.
Now don’t forget to pace yourself people, its a DVD meaning we can now watch it whenever the hell we want!!!
