News that Xavier Samuel had been cast as ‘Riley’ in ‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse: first hit the web yesterday,  there was no official word from Summit Entertainment…until today!

Summit Entertainment has officially confirmed that the role of ‘Riley’ now belongs to Xavier Samuel via a press release!!

Summit has hired the actor to play the role of a “newborn vampire” named Riley, a good-looking college student who joins the plot of villain Victoria to murder protagonist Bella (Kristen Stewart). Riley is corrupted by Victoria, for whom he has an inexplicable weakness.

Not much is known about Xavier except that he is from Australia.

‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’ is due in theater’s on June 30, 2010 and will be directed by David Slade (30 Days of Night).
