Something that not everyone knows is that not all of the collections shown during New York Fashion Week show at the Tents at Lincoln Center. Some designers want a more personal setting and will show their collections at either a warehouse, art gallery or even their design house.
Case in point is the Boudoir D’huitres Spring/Summer 2011 show which was held at Exit Art in the Chelsea/Hell’s Kitchen area.
How fabulous was this show, well it was AMAZING (and I had perfect viewpoint…front row).
Designer Mimi Plange was inspired for her “Prey and Pray” collection by South Africa and the and preying mantis. Using shimmering whites, yellows, browns, olives and animal prints the “Prey and Pray” has a collection that is both strong yet feminine.
My favorite looks are after the jump.
