Awards Season has officially begun!

The 37th Annual People’s Choice Awards have come to a close and after 2hrs of painful jocks, sketches, and Queen Latifah annoying (and in some cases terrifying) the nominees in attendance, and several sound issues we were given some shockers and some not so shocking winners.

“The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” took home 4 awards including Favorite Movie, “Glee” took home Favorite TV Comedy and “Glee” actress Jane Lynch took home Favorite TV Comedy Actress.  Neil Patrick Harris won Favorite TV Comedy Actor for HIMYM (side note he won the same award in 1990 for the “Doogie Howser Comedic Hour”).

In what I’m sure many Twilight fans are calling an “upset” Johnny Depp beat out both Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner for Favorite Movie Actor and Zac Efron beat out Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart for Favorite Star Under 25.

Overall the show was dull and in need of a new script, Latifah went off script several times due to numerous issues with the sound as the microphones were cutting out during the 2hr long telecast.  Selena Gomez and the Scene gave an uneventful performance and Kid Rock was honored with the “People’s Voice” award.

Next up on the awards calender are the Golden Globes airing live on Jan 16th on NBC followed by the  Screen Actor Guild (S.A.G.) Awards on Jan 30th airing live on TBS/TNT.
