The 17th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards were held last night and as expected, the awards handed out seemed to follow the trend of the Golden Globes.
The Screen Actors Guild Awards are voted on by S.A.G members and are only given out to S.A.G members. The “Actor” award is really one of the most highly respected awards in the industry.
Last night awards saw ‘The King’s Speech’, ‘Boardwalk Empire’ and ‘The Fighter’ actors all take home multiple awards, while Natalie Portman won her 3rd Best Actress award for her role in ‘Black Sawn’ (she has previously won the Critics Choice and Golden Globe).
In the TV world, ‘Modern Family’ beat out last years winner ‘Glee’ for Best Ensemble Cast – Comedy Series, and the always fabulous Betty White won her first ever “Actor” award for her role in ‘Hot in Cleveland’ in the Best Actor Female Comedy category.
Actor Ernest Borgnine (who just turned 94 on the 24th) was given the Screen Actor Guild Lifetime Achievement Award.
You can see the full list of winners after the jump, and be sure to check out our S.A.G Awards Best Dress list.
