Harry Potter Wins Big at the 2011 Teen Choice Awards

Harry Potter Wins Big at the 2011 Teen Choice Awards

Last night was all about the Teens vote as stars (and their fans) gathered at the Gibson Amphiteatre in Universal City, CA for the 2011 Teen Choice Awards, hosted this year by “Big Bang Theory” star Kaley Cuoco.

For the first time in about 3 years, Harry Potter managed to overthrow the “Twilight” franchise and pick up the most wins in the movie category, taking home 7 surf boards.  Harry Potter stars Tom Felton and Rupert Grint were on hand to accept the awards as Daniel Radcliffe accepted via video.  ”The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” managed to score 3 wins including awards for both Kellan Lutz and Ashley Green in the Male/Female Scene Stealer category.  Twilight star Robert Pattinson picked up 2 wins: one for Choice Vampire and one for Best Male Drama for “Water for Elephants”.

For the TV awards, “The Vampire Diaries were the big winners, taking home 7 surf boards.  FOX’s own hit “Glee” walked away with 3 wins including Choice TV Breakout Star for Darren Criss.  Other TV winners included “Gossip Girl”, “Pretty Little Liars”, and “The Voice”.

America’s Country Princess Taylor Swift was the big Music winner, walking away with 5 surf boards  including Choice: Female Country Artist, Country Single, Female Artist, Break-up Song, and Female Fashion Icon.  Taylor also won the nights highest honor of Ultimate Choice.  This makes Ms. Swift the most honored winner in the history of the show.

The show also featured performances from ‘Selena Gomez and the Scene’, ‘One Republic’, and Jason Derulo.
