Tonight’s ‘Generosity’ episode of ‘The Glee Project’ starts off with a homework challenge of the classic song ‘Lean on Me’ with ‘Glee’ cast mentor Kevin McHale aka Artie Abrams choosing this weeks winner, who just happens to be Lindsay, who in the final stretch finally wins a homework challenge.

This weeks video challenge proved to be just that a challenge to all of the remaining contestants – Lindsay, Alex, Samuel, and Damian – as the group would preform the hit ‘My Chemical Romance’ song “Sing” all while faux playing instruments and mentoring kids from the local schools where music programs have been cut.

Out of the four, Samuel is the only contestant who plays an instrument in real life, the rest must fake their way through it.  It seemed everyone had an issue tonight, whether is was not “playing” on the beat, not mentoring their young partner enough or not lip-synching correctly.

Throwing a curve ball into tonights “sing for your life”, Ryan decided that only himself and show co-creator Ian Brennan would decide who makes it to the finals and who goes home, meaning Zack and Robert would be sitting this round out.

It was decided that the Lindsay would sing “Deifying Gravity” from the hit musical “Wicked”; Alex would sing “His Eye is on the Sparrow”; Damian got the classic Sammy Davis Jr. song “I Gotta Be Me” and oddly enough Samuel got “My Funny Valentine”.  These were all crucial performances as this is the first time Brennan was hearing of the contestants sing.

In the end, someone has to go home, or not.  After a round of discussions, Ian and Ryan decided not to send anyone home, so next weeks finale will be a battle of the top 4 not the top 3.

Based off the sneak peek into next week’s season finale, the final 4 will be singing the “Glee” theme, Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believing” and it looks like the mentor is none other than Ryan Murphy.

The season finale of “The Glee Project” airs next Sunday at 9pm on Oxygen.
