Pick-ups, Cancellations, and Deaths – TV News Round-Up

This week TV fans cheered as networks picked some of our favorite new shows, were given hope with some script ordered, were stunned by a shocking death, and once again realized how good is to get revenge. 

Here is a recap of this weeks top headlines and TV news from TV land:

USA Network season 6 of the fan favorite Psych not only kicked off their season with an early preview during Fan Appreciation Day, but also kicked off season 6 to a pretty good start with 3 million veiwers in the ratings.

Speaking of The Secret Circle, R.I.P. ‘Nick Armstrong’ (Louis Hunter).

nAfter a steady stream of good ratings The CW has officially picked up on full seasons of “The Ringer”, “Hart of Dixie”, and “The Secret Circle”.  We are happy about two of those and confused by one.

ABC has officially picked up the new comedy “Suburgatory” and the new smash hit drama Revenge for a full season.

ABC has also pulled the plug on the quickly dying re-boot of “Charlie’s Angels”.

Tim Allen’s “Last Man Standing” premiere this week on ABC with 19 million viewers in the ratings.  It also helps that this show is pretty damn funny, so we should expect that one to stay around.

HBO has picked up “Boardwalk Empire” for a 3rd season.

TNT has officially killed Jason Lee’s “Memphis Beat”

NBC has ordered 6 more scripts for the freshman drama “Prime Suspect”, which is a step in the right direction for a full season pick up.

Nominations were announced for the 38th Annual American Music Awards and the 2nd Annual American Country Awards.

Netflix and The CW has stuck a 4 year streaming deal that kicked off on Oct 15 and will keep shows available on Netflix “Watch It Now” through 2015.

NBC has ordered a pilot be produced for a 1/2 hour comedy from “Glee” co-creator Ryan Murphy.

After a well reviewed and more important well watched episode of “Happy Endings”, ABC has ordered 6 additional scripts for the show.
