Tradition Continues with the Lighting of the Rockefeller Christmas Tree

The holiday season wouldn’t be complete without the lighting of the iconic Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center.  Tonight was the 14th Annual “Christmas in Rockefeller” where musicians come to celebrate a true New York City tradition the lighting of the tree.  This year the show featured performances from Michael Bublé, Tony Bennett, Niel Diamond, Big Time Rush, Carole King, Katharine McPhee, Javier Colon, The Radio City Rockettes, and Justin Bieber feat. Usher.   Justin Bieber also debuted his new music video for “All I Want for Christmas is You” featuring Mariah Carey.

The 79th annual Rockefeller Christmas tree is a Norway Spruce that is 74 feet high, 46 feet in diameter and weighs 10 tons.  The tree will contain over 36,000 lights.
