Mission Impossible 4 Wins First Box Office of 2012

Happy New Year movie goers.  The first box office weekend of 2012 has come to close and Tom Cruise managed to stay on top. Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol welcomed the new year by grossing $31.2 million which was enough to stay in its #1 spot.  Robert Downey Jr. and company secured the #2 spot with Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows with $22 million.  #3 belongs to Alvin, Simon and Theodore’s Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked with $18.2 million.  War Horse moved up 3 spots to #4 with $16.9 million and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo rounds out the top 5 with $16.3 million.
