Tonight actors gathered at the Beverly Hilton hotel for the Hollywood Foreign Press Association 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards for a night that celebrates the best of both Television and Film.
Comedian Ricky Gervais returned as host for a third time and managed to not overly offend the crowd. Winners from the night include Meryl Streep who took home the ward for Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama for her role at British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher; French actor Jean Dujardin for “The Artist”; Jessica Lange took home the Best Supporting Actress Series Miniseries or TV Movie for her role in American Horror Story; and Best Actor in a TV Series Comedy or Musical went to Matt LeBlanc for ‘Episodes’. Overall both The Artist and The Descendants were both the big winner of the night taking home the Best Motion Picture award in their categories.
Over in Television, Modern Family took home the award for Best TV Series – Comedy, while Homeland took home the award for Best TV Series Drama. The PBS hit Downton Abbey managed to beat out the HBO’s Mildred Pierce for Best Mini-Series or TV Movie.
Overall is was a great night for the winners and the fashion was fantastic as well (you can see your Best Dressed list here).
