Let this be a lesson to everyone, nothing will beat Kate Beckinsale dressed in latex and kicking ass. An overall slow weekend saw Underworld: Awakening beat out last weeks number one Contraband at this weekends box office.
While the forth installment of the Underworld series debute at #1 at the box office, it was the lowest grossing opening weekend for the franchise with $25.4 million. Coming in at #2 is the George Lucas produced Red Tails which tells the history behind the Tuskegee Airmen with $19.1 million. Last weeks number one Contraband fell down to #3 with $12.2 million while the drama Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close hit #4 with $10.5 million. Rounding out the box office top 5 is Haywire with $9 million.
