Last night USA Network wrapped up Upfront week with a star studded presentation that focused on the network’s slogan of “Welcome”.
The USA 2012 Upfront kicked off with a special performance by Mark Ronson, the network had stars from their hit shows like Matt Bomer and Tim DeKay of WHITE COLLAR, Dule Hill and James Roday of PSYCH, Gabriel Macht and Patrick J. Adams of SUITS, Callie Thorne and Mehcad Brooks of NECESSARY ROUGHNESS, Sarah Shahi of FAIRLY LEGAL, Mark Feuerstein of ROYAL PAINS,Piper Perabo and Christopher Gorham of COVERT AFFAIRS and Bruce Campbell of BURN NOTICE present the new shows coming to the network includes both scripted comedies, drama, and non-scripted shows.
USA Network as been the #1 network on cable for the past six years, and this year the network is expanding by adding 4 non-scripted reality shows to the network including THE MOMENT hosted by Super Bowl MVP Kurt Warner and THE CHOIR with UK choirmaster Gareth Malone. USA is also adding more comedy to its line-up with 6 new half hour shows that include Denis Leary’s SIRENS and PAGING DR. FREED from Michael Feldman (“That’s So Raven”). It was also announced that starting in 2013, USA Network will start airing past season of hit show and winner of 11 Emmy awards MODERN FAMILY
In the drama department, 6 new shows will be joining the networks hit dramas including COMMON LAW, which premiered on May 11;Multi-award winner Sigourney Weaver joins the new show POLITICAL ANIMALS about a high-profile political dynasty, GRACELAND which follows agents from the FBI, CIA, and DEA who all live in a southern California house nick-named Graceland.
John Cena and Stephanie McMehon from WWE Raw also announced that on July 23rd, RAW will celebated its 1000th episode and will move to a full 3-hour format.
The presentation concluded with Mark Ronson and Erykah Badu performing a small set of songs including “Valerie” in tribute to the late Amy Winehouse.
