First Look at Season 3 of The Walking Dead, Guess Who’s Back

First Look at Season 3 of The Walking Dead, Guess Who’s Back

We still have to wait till October for season 3 of The Walking Dead to premiere, but with Comic Con just around the corner we got a first look at some of the most popular new characters for the new season and the return of a season 1 survivor.

Michonne (the bad ass wielding a sword) showed up at the end of season 2 and we now get our first look at actress Danai Gurira in her new role as one of the comic books most popular characters.

We’ve seen a lot of villains on the show (walkers, BFF’s going all crazy, etc) but the most popular (or not) villain on The Walking Dead is “The Governor”.  Before season 2 ended we reported that David Morrissey was cast in the role as the most evil thing to end the comic book series since the walkers took over, and now we get our first look at “The Governor” in action.

Besides the usual “Rick Grimes pointing a gun at someone” still, we get visual confirmation that none other than Merle Dixon, brother of Daryl Dixon is back, alive, and not a walker.  Merle was last seen (besides that weird dream sequence Daryl had in S2) in season 1 when he was hand cuffed to pole. Merle was forced to go all 127-hours and cut off his own hand when T-Dog dropped the handcuff key down a drain (by accident) and left Merle a choice: either cut off his hand and try to escape or sit there and become a tasty snack to a hoard of Atlanta walkers.

You can see all the first look images below, and stay tuned as we bring more first looks from season 3 of The Walking Dead.
