The Bachelorette Recap Episode 7 – The Most Intense Episode So Far

Emily takes her men to Prague, Czech Republic, and she couldn’t be more excited: “I feel like I have the best group of guys ever.” Six guys come with her but only four will get to bring Emily home next week to meet their families.

In Prague Emily will enjoy three 1-1 dates and one group date. Only the group date will have a rose so that the 1-1s can be just about spending time together.

1-1: Arie: “Let’s Czech out Prague together…Emily”

As always Emily cannot stop kissing Arie, “I like to kiss Arie, I feel like I let him know that a lot and I feel like I show him that a lot by kissing him a lot.”

But at the back of her mind for the majority of the date is the thought that she knows something Arie isn’t telling her. Throughout the show Arie has kept from her that years ago he used to be in a relationship with one of the show’s producers. Emily takes this personally and feels like an “idiot” because she’s the only one between the three that didn’t know.

Instead of confronting Arie she tries baiting him into it; probing about questions of loyalty and openness. Arie has no clue what she’s talking about and confides that he used to have the name of a girl tattooed onto him but he’s covered it up since.

Off camera, Emily, the Producer, and Arie have a sit down chat about the past. Arie apparently tells Emily that it happened so long ago he didn’t think it mattered and she agrees and further realizes that she feels no differently about where they’re at in their relationship than before.

At dinner that night Emily even takes it as far as apologizing to Arie: “It’s cool it’s just a misunderstanding. I’m sorry; I should have given you the benefit of the doubt.”

Arie replies to this by telling her that he loves her and Emily beams, “if things keep going this way, nothing will make me happier. You’ve just made me like the happiest girl.”

After their date Arie feels reassured about their relationship and tells the cameras: “Tonight has completely changed my life. Now I can completely see myself marrying her. I’m like on top of the world.”

1-1: John: “In Prague all you need is love… Emily”

This is Emily and John’s first, yes first, one-on-one. Throughout the date Emily realizes that the more time she spend with him the more she likes him as a person, but she still hasn’t found that romantic connection.

During the date the two tried locking a padlock onto the gate of love. Metaphorically, the lock they tried snapping on wouldn’t even love without a ridiculous amount of effort. Emily compares this to their relationship and says to the cameras, “it’s not a good sign.”

Their date ends with dinner in a dungeon and John opens up about how his heart was broken by being cheated on in his last relationship. That, he explains, is why he has a bit of a shell and moves slowly.
He says to Emily, about her, “Yes, I definitely could fall in love with this girl” and “I’m not a starter, I’m a closer.”
