Kicking off Comic Con today was the panel for “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn part 2”. The Twilight Saga movies have had a long and good history with Comic Con as they first attended in 2008 to pack Hall H full of Twilight fans. Various cast members have joined the three leads – Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner – throughout the years to promote the films (exception was 2010 when there was no panel for Eclipse) and show love to us “Twi-Hards”.
Today marked a bittersweet moment for Twilight fans, the beginning of the end as this was the last Twilight Saga panel. Joining Pattinson, Stewart, and Lautner this year on the panel was the whole Cullen Clan: Ashley Greene (first time back since 2009), Nikki Reed, Jackson Rathbone, Kellan Lutz, Peter Facinelli, and Elizabeth Reaser. Newcomer Mackenzie Foy – who plays vampire/human child Reneesme Cullen was also present. Also back for the first time since 2008 was author of the Twilight Saga, Stephenie Meyer.
Fans to attended the panel were treated to a Q/A with the cast along with TWO first looks at Breaking Dawn part 2 which included the first seven minutes of the film and a scene where Bella is practicing being human for her father Charlie. At the end of the panel, the cast was joined all new covens that will be introduced in the film – Egyptian, Irish, Romanian, Denali, Amazon and French (this coven was made strictly for the film – to say thank you to all the fans that have loved and supported the franchise for the last five years.
