It looks like Seth MacFarlane will be bringing his own flair to the Oscars next year. According to reports, the Family Guy creator has been tapped to host the 85th annual Academy Awards. Set to air on ABC Feb. 24, Seth joins the long list of comedy greats that have taken the stage at the Kodak Theatre before him.
“It’s truly an overwhelming privilege to be asked to host the Oscars,” said MacFarlane in a statement. “My thoughts upon hearing the news were, one, I will do my utmost to live up to the high standards set forth by my predecessors; and two, I hope they don’t find out I hosted the Charlie Sheen Roast.”
Despite his unique hosting resume, I think that Seth will make an awesome (if not, memorable) MC at the Oscars in 2013! What do you think of the Academy’s choice?
