I usually reserve words like “bold” and “bright” for spring fashions, but it seems that vibrant hues are going to be all the rage come autumn. At least that’s how Mara Hoffman envisions it. The designer presented her Fall 2013 collection at Lincoln Center on Feb. 9 and rest assured Hoffman loyalists, her designs definitely delivered.
“I wanted to embrace what we do best with this collection and give our girls what they love most, color, prints and wearable yet unique silhouettes,” notes Hoffman, whose worldly influences were ever present during Saturday afternoon’s presentation. Among the standout pieces from the show, a magenta caravan chiffon gown with an eye-popping print, a tapestry beaded blouse that would mesh perfectly with a pair of skinnies or leather leggings, and the grand finale, a fiery chiffon keyhole gown that glided down the runway with grace.
