When entering a show that includes five very different designers you are not sure what to expect. “Captivated” is one word to describe the mood of the audience during the Feb 7th Concept Korea show at Lincoln Center. The show was high energy and high fashion with the most important people in fashion in attendance.
Fashion Week VIPs including Fern Mallis the creator of NYFW, Patricia Field a fashion and costume design icon, and singer/songwriter Neon Hitch all had a front row seat for this highly anticipated show.
Choi Bo Ko kicked off the show with his modern and expertly tailored collection with abstract graphics, had a simple color palette of black, white, and red with splashes of green and yellow. Hongbum Kim of Cres E. Dim made structured leather the focal point of the collection, Song Jung Wan used neutrals and fur accents for a fresh and beautiful collection, Lie Sang Bong began with an illuminated head piece followed by impressive geometric prints and patterns, Kathleen Kye of KYE ended the show with brightly colored furs and graffiti prints.
Concept Korea has opened doors for many of Korea’s greatest designers and the American fashion world has welcomed them with open arms.
