Every season during New York Fashion Week we know a few things will be certain and one of them is that designer Zang Toi will wow us with another one of his stellar collections. We have not been wrong in six seasons.
For fall 2013 Mr. Toi takes us to Russia with a collection as that was lavish and opulent. His goal was to re-imagine the looks of the faberge egg and Perterhof Place with gowns made form cashmere, silk, and velvet with accents of fur, garland and chiffon. The color palette started off with earth and neutral tones like amber, grey, and black then moved into the customized “Peterhof” print and finished off with jewel tones of emerald, sapphire, and amethyst. The grand finale included jet black silk with gold embellishments. To say Mr. Toi achieved his goal of taking us on a journey to grand Russia is an understatement, we were transported with lux beauty and rich imagine.
So congratulations to our friend Zang Toi on yet another successful and beautiful collection.
