Custo Barcelona Fall 2013

Custon Barcelona always takes chances and presents bold collections. This fall fashion show was no different with brown, blue, and gold hues perfect for the season. The heavy sweater dresses and thick coats looked cozy especially on the show’s cold February day.

Dalmau brothers, David and Custo, presented a large collection that is hard to summarize in a few words. Titled “The Beauty and The Beast,” the show was a blur of sweater dresses, men’s jackets with broad shoulders, and many many indie patterns. The best part was the beautiful dresses hidden under jackets and sweaters. There was a short purple and gold square dress that looked gorgeous under a mink coat of the same colors. There was also a daring outfit of a multi-patterned long-sleeve top and beaded shorts peeping out of the bottom. The men wore mostly simple ensembles compared to the women with some great fitted trench coats.

The enormous collection was a mix of feminine and sporty looks. Described as a “harsh Nordic” feel, the collection is stunning. However, according to, Custo admits “it’s not for everybody.”
