Spring brings us three guaranteed things rain, May Sweeps and the Network Upfront presentations. Every year the networks along with their biggest and brightest talent flock to New York City to present their line-up for the next season of TV.
If you are not familiar with the network upfronts there here is a little guide. The upfronts is the time of year when networks present their new show pick ups, show cancellations, and the show schedule for the upcoming season to new and current advertisers (and the press).
For fans, upfront presentations are important as it lets you know if your favorite show is safe or dead in the water, and if your favorite show is moving days/times next season. So when are these upfronts and how will we know the outcome you ask. Well the upfronts have already started for cable networks (E!, MTV, AMC, etc) and it will wrap up with larger cable networks and broadcast networks starting the week of May 13th on the following dates/times and new this year places!
Monday, May 13
NBC: Radio City Music Hall, 1260 6th Ave.; 11 a.m.
FOX: Beacon Theatre, 2124 Broadway; 4 p.m.
Tuesday, May 14
ABC: Avery Fisher Hall at Lincoln Center, 132 W. 65th St.; 4 p.m. – Hosted by Jimmy Kimmel
Wednesday, May 15
TNT/TBS: Hammerstein Ballroom, 311 West 34th St.; 10 a.m.
CBS: Carnegie Hall, 881 7th Ave.; 4 p.m.
Adult Swim: Roseland Ballroom, 239 West 52nd St. (between Broadway and 8th Avenue); 9 p.m. – performance by Kanye West
Thursday, May 16
The CW: New York City Center, 131 West 55th St.; 11 a.m.
USA Network: Pier 36, 299 South St.; 4 p.m.
