Nominations for the 67th Annual Tony Awards Are…

Bright and early this morning we gathered at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts for the live announcement of the Tony Awards nominations.  This year presenting the nominations were stage/screen star Jesse Tyler Ferguson (Modern Family) and two-time Tony Award winner Sutton Foster.

Taking in the lead with the most nominations is the new musical Kinky Boots with 13 followed very closely by Matilda The Musical which garnered 12.  Revivals Pippin and Rogers + Hammerstein’s Cinderella scored big on the nomination front with 10 and 9 nominations each including Best Revival of a Musical.  On the play front, Golden Boy racked up the most nominations with 8 while Lucky Guy and Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike both tied with 6 including a nomination for Tom Hanks for Best Actor in Play for his Broadway debut in Lucky Guy.
