It was almost year ago that designer Donna Karan announced her new atelier line aptly named Donna Karan Atelier and at tonight’s Annual Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art aka the Met Gala not one, not two but four stunning actresses hit the red carpet in four fabulous new gowns.
Naomie Harris (‘Skyfall)’ looked stunning in a cobalt to black pleated silk chiffon ombre gown with ruffles mixed with silk organza and tulle. with Donna’s signature cold-shoulder. Once Upon A Time’s Jennifer Morrison took a darker approach with her gown while keeping her make-up on the lighter side with the exception of a bold red lip. The young Hailee Steinfeld looked chic yet super age appropriate in a custom cream leather gown detailed with gold antique safety pins (very punk).
However it was Emmy Rossum’s gown that wowed, stunned, and pretty much killed it. Emmy’s gown was draped to perfection but had an almost deconstruction look to it, like someone artfully ripped and shredded it. Made of hand embroidered washed silk tule, everything from hair to makeup to nails were done to the next level.
