Glee Gets Season 3 Pickup

In a shocking move, Fox has renewed ‘Glee’ for a 3rd season before their first season is even over.

Fox Entertainment President Kevin Reilly says ”Everything about Glee – from the concept to the characters to the marketing – has been innovative and risky, but with [series creator] Ryan Murphy tapping into the zeitgeist, the risk has paid off with this truly remarkable series. Gleehas one of the most active, devoted fan bases I’ve ever seen, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to give Gleeks a third season of their favorite show.”

Currently ‘Glee’ is the number 1 new scripted show between 18-49yr olds and has averaged 9.4 million viewers per week.

The ‘Glee’ season finale will air on June 8th and will pick up again this fall Tuesday at 8pm!!

Glee Season 2: Bigger & Longer?

PaleyFest ‘10 was this past weekend, and what came out of it was some pretty fantastic Glee news!!

First off, Fox is taking to creator Ryan Murphy about making season 2 25 episodes instead of 22, which means its a win/win for everyone involved as we would see less repeats.

What else was learned? Looks like Puck and Rachel will be getting a second chance at romance, Neil Patrick Harris will be doing a solo number when guest stars to the tune of Billy Joel,  and look for Kristin Chenoweth’s April Rhodes to come back during the 3rd episode back, along with her ‘Wicked’ co-start Idina Menzel and Lea Michelle’s former ‘Spring Awakening’ co-star Jonathan Groff who are both part of the rival team ‘Vocal Adrenaline’ (which we already knew).

Lady Gaga’s tunes are getting some love and so is Bette Midler in the form of ‘The Rose’ being done by ‘Kurt’.

What won’t we see during the rest of this season…Rachel’s 2 gay dads so far are not slated to make an appearance

Also for those of us in NYC, look for more dates to be added to the ‘Glee Live’ tour as currently all performances are sold out!

Fringe Gets 3rd Season plus other TV Renewals

That sound you hear are the joyous cries of thanks to FOX for giving an early renewal for a third season for Fringe!!

FOX announced last week that even though the show only gets around 7.6 million viewers, Fringe is doing pretty darn well in its Thursday night time slot going against heavy hitters CSI and Grey’s Anatomy.

Currently on the American Idol programing break, all new episodes pick back up on April 1.

NBC has also announced that it has given the green lit for 30 Rock, The Office and new comer Community for next season!!

Which is no shocker, as all 3 shows have been doing great in the ratings.

GLEE Cast is WhiteHouse Bound!!

Looks like things are rolling right along for the cast of ‘Glee’.  Fresh off their SAG and Golden Globe wins comes what could be the most important invite ever…performing at The Whitehouse.

The Obama’s are big fans of the show and have invited the ‘Glee’ cast to perform at the WhiteHouse Easter Egg Roll.

So, what do the show runners do…move around their schedule of coarse, cause win the President of the United States invites you to his home, that is one gig you don’t turn down!!!

‘Glee’ is currently filming the 2nd half of its first season with new episodes start on April 13th.
