Earlier today DeadlineHollywood.com announced that Summit Entertainment is officially making ‘Breaking Dawn’ (the 4th and largest novel in the series) into 2 films. With filming starting in October and both films being shot back to back.

Only problem with this…Its not Official!!

The official word given to Gossip Cop from a rep for Summit is, “No decision has been made and as we have said all along we are continuing to work with Stephenie Meyer to bring Breaking Dawn to the big screen.”

HOWEVER, a well-placed source tells Gossip Cop dividing Breaking Dawn into two pictures “is the direction that it’s going in.” We’re told that from a practical standpoint, separating the story into two parts and shooting back-to-back is what makes most sense.

Earlier reports seem to be fairly accurate when it comes to timing, specifically, that filming may begin in October.

Hopefully this means we will be getting some kind of official statement soon from Summit!!

Several sites such as Eonline, The Hollywood Reporter, and others have reported that Summit Entertainment has cast the role ‘Riley’ in the third Twilight Saga movie, Eclipse.

However, no official press release or statement has been released from Summit Entertainment!!!

I agree with both Twilight Lexicon and His Golden Eyes when they say not to believe casting rumors unless an official release has been made by Summit.  Both sites will NOT post casting rumors on their sites, only once Summit has confirmed the casting will the sites post it.

Per Twilight Lexicon:

“Long and short of it: too early for official comment on the studio or actor’s part. This kind of thing genreally not confirmed until ink is way dry on contract. If you’re a huge name like a Brad Pitt you might comment early, but not a relative unknown. Our gut instinct leans yes because THR tends to get it right moreso than they get it wrong.  Bottom line remains to be seen.”

Earlier this evening, Kimmy from HGE sent the following Tweet

Don’t trust casting news unless it comes directly from a reputable source, i.e. HGE, the Lexicon, NOT GOSSIP SITES that are mainly paparazzi

Once Summit confirms the casting of ANY role, I will post it up here!!!

As I reported last month, the ‘Scream’ series is getting an un-needed reboot.

Back then it was rumored that both David & Courtney Cox (who met while filming Scream #1) would reprise their roles in the 4th film.

While, that has been confirmed today!

David told the following to E!’s Marc Malkin

“We are going to be doing Scream 4,”Kevin Williamson is writing the script at this moment, and hopefully Wes Craven is going to direct.”

Nothing regarding the plot of the movie has been released, but according to David, Williamson is working on the script now.

At this time none of the original actors have signed on besides the Cox’s, Neve Campbell has turned the offer to reprise her role as Sidney Prescott.

It looks like Breaking Dawn is taking baby steps into production.  According to IMDB Pro, the status of BD has changed from “optioned property” to “script”.

This looks to go along with what Melissa Rosenberg wrote on her Facebook page, that Summit asked to start reading the book again to start figuring out the script.

If all this is true, we could be looking at a spring 2010 production date!!!!

Update: One thing I should mention is that Summit has not yet confirmed this, so don’t count it as 100% fact just yet!!
